Dear Parish Family,
Lent invites us to slow down. It is a season that gently calls us inward—toward prayer, repentance, and a more honest look at our lives. For forty days, we are given space to listen more closely for God’s voice and to remember who we are and whose we are. It is not meant to weigh us down, but to draw us nearer to Christ.
This year, I invite you to take part in a Diocesan Lenten study titled Becoming the Poor, Becoming the Church of the Beatitudes. Throughout the season of Lent, we will join congregations across the Diocese in prayer, reflection, and conversation as we consider what it means to live more deeply into the Beatitudes.
You can learn more and access the study materials here:

Each week during Lent, we will post the reflection, a link to each week’s study guide, and one of the reflection questions on our Facebook page to help guide your personal prayer and discussion. We also invite you to share your reflections in the comments—whether in response to the weekly question or to any of the questions included in the study guide. If a reflection or question brings something to the surface that feels important or personal, please feel free to reach out to me privately. I would be glad to talk or pray with you.
We hope you will join us in this shared Lenten journey.
Faithfully,
Fr. John
