As I look forward to the upcoming season, I am happy to say that there will be new things occurring in the music at St. Paul's. We are fortunate to have the return of four Resident Artists from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia http://www.avaopera.org singing with us this season.
We are presently enjoying the return of the sounds of the organ to the sanctuary with our new Allen Renaissance Quantum 345 Organ. We continue offering you the Preludes and Fugues of Bach, the French Romantic music of Vierne, Dupré, Gigout and also the music of contemporary American composers.
The Steinway piano will remain a leading force in the music of the church. We will continue to hear great keyboard compositions of the masters, and several times during the upcoming season, I will collaborate with some of my string player friends to present chamber music of Beethoven, Brahms and others.
We want to expand the participation in the choir. You need not be a professional singer to join us. Much of the music we offer is easy to learn and a lot of fun to sing. Yes, occasionally we will prepare pieces over an extended period of time for them to come off well, but our quartet really helps this happen without pain. Consider singing with us. We are a fun and loving group! You may contact me through the office or better still, by email. DavAntony@stpaulselkinspark.org
