Takesha Meshé Kizart
Soprano

A young and rising spinto soprano, Ms Kizart is an honors vocal performance graduate of the University of North Texas, where her operatic credits included Giorgetta and Suor Angelica in Il Trittico, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Cosi’ fan Tutte, Countess Almiviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow.

This Chicago native has appeared with Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, Amarillo Opera, and many others.

Ms. Kizart’s awards include: winner of the 2001 Leontyne Price Vocal Arts Competition and the 2001 National Association of Negro Musicians Competition, finalist in the 2003 Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition, national semi-finalist in the 2004 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, second place winner in the 2004 Giargiari Bel Canto Competition, International Finalist in; the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna, Austria, winner of the 2005 Opera Index Incorporated Vocal Competition and award winner in the 2005 Marian Anderson Historical Society Scholars’ Program.

For the Academy of Vocal Arts she portrayed the role of Musetta in La Bohème, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Anna in Le Villi.
